Restorative Dentistry
Restorative Dentistry is a term we use to help correct your smile and replace missing or damaged teeth. Crowns, bridges, partials and implants are common restorative treatments. The goal is to bring back your original smile and prevent future dental issues.
Important Restorative Facts:
- Filling empty spaces in your mouth can help keep your teeth better aligned
- Replacing a tooth/teeth can make it easier to continue positive oral care habits.
- Missing a tooth/teeth will affect your health and your overall appearance
Dentures
At Catawba River Dentistry, we offer full dentures and partial dentures. Dentures and partial dentures fill any tooth loss gaps with false teeth. Dentures will replace a complete set of teeth and they are placed directly on top of the patients gums. Partial dentures are for patients that still have teeth to blend in and anchor the newly created teeth.
Benefits of Getting Dentures
Replacing teeth is a very important part of a patient’s oral health. When in place, dentures are very natural looking and match the rest of your smile. Dentures have strong artificial teeth and allow patients to eat many of their favorite foods. Depending on the patients oral care, Dentures can last for over 10 years.
Dentures will typically not cost as much as some other restorative or cosmetic treatments. Most insurance plans may even cover some of the denture costs.
Dental Crowns
What are Dental Crowns?
Crowns are one of the most popular dental restorative services in the world. A dental crown is a small ceramic or porcelain covering that protects a damaged tooth. Crowns are made so that they blend in well with the rest of your teeth and smile
Dental Bridges
What are Dental Bridges? A dental bridge is fabricated to fill in the missing teeth are missing. A bridge can keep your other teeth from shifting. When a bridge is placed, it should work like your real teeth.
Usually the bridge is attached to two adjacent teeth, and the middle part of the bridge sits on the gum line. A fake tooth is made to replace the missing tooth. Most bridges can last for decades before replacement. Dental Bridges are a good alternative to getting a dental implant.
Why are Dental Bridges needed?
A dental bridge is typically used if you’re missing a tooth. A dental bridge is comparable to a dental crown, but it is larger and is used to replace missing teeth.
